| Cool things to try with AVP-1
I believe in setting everything to ridiculous and using it as not intended. The AVP-1 is fun because it is nearly realtime in pitch correction, unlike the plug-in. I turn on the autopitch, jack the sensitivity and response time to as fast as possible and then setup a fun scale over say an a minor drone.
I have an Aphex 107 mic pre dedicated as input for the AVP-1, and the output goes into a little Korg Ampworks to dirty it up. Now sing through it, or rather warble your voice up and down and it will turn it into a melody based on the scale. Some nice distortion, suitable delay and reverb, and you have something from a arabic singer to a wailing screech guitar. Send it through a wah pedal and get some strange sax like tones. Oh, I've heard it can be used for vocals and stuff too.
(same idea I did with the microKorg. Ditch the stupid little microphone and hook the mics input up to a send on your mixer. Now you can vocod anything and get it moving to a cool arp)
