MPC 1000 and logic pro 8

Hello. I have synced up my mpc to logic via midi. i'm succesful at having the mpc trigger a software instrument in logic but when i try to record the note that's on the first pad of the mpc gets triggered simultaneously with the click. I have lowered the output level of pad #1 on the mixer screen of the mpc but the problem still arises when i hit record in logic. Pleasehelp me figure this out since i desperately need to use the software instruments in logic. Thanks a million!
