Word clock divider/multiplier - does such a device exist?

I've searched around but haven't been able to find an answer for this one. I'd like to be able to run my DAW/converter at 88.2/96k while driving an older synchroniser that can only sync to 44.1/48k.

Is there a simple/cheap way to achieve this? Is there a device that can halve the rate of the incoming word clock and pass it on to another device?

Cheers
Frank

Antelope Audio

I believe that the Antelope clocks can send different clock signals out on one of the outputs.

Not sure if that is going to help you.

The Lucid GENX192 can also output different sample rates, with its A and B outputs.

Thanks for the replies. All rather expensive options unfortunately, and although I'm sure they would do the job with flying colours, they offer way more functionality than I actually need. Basically I'm trying to make preparations to sync a Studer A80 MkI 16 track to a Lynx AES16/Aurora 16 (running on internal clock) using a Micro Lynx. I also have a MOTU Digital Timepiece and a black burst generator, and the plan is to send black burst and Aurora word clock to the MOTU and have the MOTU sync them both and provide video ref that the Micro Lynx is happy with. Apparently the MOTU can do this.

But the MOTU can only deal with 44.1k or 48k, which will limit the DAW to those sample rates if I want to be in sync. This is why I was looking for a clever (and hopefully cheap!) box to halve the word clock rate out of the Aurora into the MOTU.

I posted about this stuff a long time ago, but the restoration of the A80 took a lot longer than originally anticipated, but it's almost ready for action now at last. The other job is to source or build the Micro Lynx to A80 cable, but that's a different thread!

All suggestions welcome!

Cheers
Frank
