San Francisco Slutz?

Hello!

I'm going to be in the area the first week of June (May 31st - June 7th). My lady and I have been talking about making the jump from Maryland for a while now... go west, young man and all that.

Anyway, it would be really cool to meet a couple engineers in the area! No work required. I'd just like to talk a bit about the local recording scene, gear (always ends up there), music, whatever.

Another way to read this; free drinks for San Francisco-area engineers!

Nate

Sounds fun, give me a holla (PM). I work at a studio in the mission and mix live at a club a couple nights a week, can show you around either/both.

In addition to the recording studios, there's quite a bit of other audio industry stuff out here. Mastering studios, pro audio gear manufacturers etc. I work at Euphonix, about 20 miles south of SF.

Actually, this must be the worst possible time to check out our facility in years

We're moving this week and next week. Just a couple of miles down the road, but the place is a wreck right now. The new digs are gonna be really nice, once we get settled, but I doubt we'll have the place presentable for visitor tours before June 7th.

I'd like to meet more SF slutz too, working in Potrero Hill here.

Where in Mission are you, suedesound?

Cool! That's great everyone's game. Maybe we can all arrange a time and place? Perhaps that's too ambitious but hey, worth a shot!

I'm in SF. Down to hang out. I have a private studio here in SOMA. The Hemlock might be a cool central place to meet up.

Nice diggs!

A good friend of mine just opened a tatoo shop across the street from Hemlock, and I like that bar very much.

Are you in that hood?

South of there... near the SF Chronicle (a bit ghetto but it's an area where I can make a lot of noise and no one bothers me).

Yes, the Hemlock is a pretty chill place... a nice selection of beers on tap too.

Being a chain smoker I love the smoking section at hemlock, not into the room for bands tho.

I work at dunord though, which I feel is a much better small venue. (of course I'm biased)

Cafe Du Nord rocks... you mix there? The sound is always really good when I go there. Certainly one of my favorite SF music spots.

You guys used to be right near Fry's, right? I worked down the road on Hillview.

Now I'm working in Daly City.

Wow, thanks!

I've been there since around July last year, but it was one of my favorite clubs as a performer and patron before that for years.

No offense towards Hemlock but I just never liked the sound in that room.

I'm not at Rodent, I'm at Potrero Post, a small inconspicuous post house a block and a half away (Indiana and 19th).

I'm a chainsmoker too, Hemlock sounds good.

Cool I live at 22nd and Deharo, been on the hill for about a year after many many crappy apts throughout the city (TL, lower haight, mission etc). So far this is my favorite neighborhood (although I end up in the mission most of the time).

the Hemlock looks like home. Who's game for meeting there at some yet-to-be determined time and day that first week of June?
