Oh okay- thanks. Just thought some of the youtube clips were are few bpm slower than on the album so made the assumption. My mistake.

Just a bump for Chris. I met him during the sessions and not only is he super nice and willing to share, but hes one hell of an engineer. Man can he track drums!

Really really good at everything else as well!

Not surprised he was so gracious and humble on this thread. Hes got the goods for sure!

New Green Day

Hey Chris, this might have been asked and already, but did you compress the snare on the way in?
Thanks

I think this question was asked but hasn't been answered, and i'm really eager to find out..
What compressor settings did you use on the distressor when tracking the bass? And what settings did you use on the 176 for the vocals?
About how much gain reduction were you getting for both?

Sorry ive chimed in rather late!

HI!
Great album, great engineering, what more can I add to what is already told?
It would be really nice to know which configuration was use on the overheads. I mean, was it XY, Spaced Pair, etc. Did you record a stereo pair and individual cymbals?
Really an awesome thread!
Best regards.

Chris!

Why did you choose i.e the chandler ltd-1 (1073 clone) for the voce? and the vintech (1073) clone for the snare?
Would a genuine 1073 work in both appliactions? or have you found a "special" vibe in each for certain aplications?

All the best / Mattias
