Mackie Build Quality? Check this photo

The front panel looks totally different, and the while filler attaching it seems strange. Are the new mackies badly finished? I hate badly finished products...novation. Click on the close up, looks like a kids put them together - an amateur job!

I bought a used 1202 VLZ recently that was American manufactured.

Heard that their newer stuff is being assembled in China

Do you agree that this looks like shoddy work or an i'm being 'picky'? The hr's are £800-1000 after all. Even cheap old KRK rokit's at least look like they are put together professionally.

What the heck is that - white bath-tile grout?

And on black-and-dark-grey speakers, no less?

What were they smoking at the factory that day?

There on ebay used but 'as new'...definitely give it a miss then.

Anyone else have these hr mk2 monitors - if so can you confirm what standard they are finished to?

The guy claims its due to the reflections on the shiny surface and the photo.

I'm not so sure

I'm willing to bet it's some kind of jeweler's rouge that was used to get rid of some scratches by the seller and it got in the seams.

Wait - you posted pictures implying (through omission) that these were new speakers that you had received, inspected in person, handled, and photographed yourself, you title it "Mackie Build Quality", let people comment on it for a while, and THEN come back with the "oh, these photos are actually a used set from some dude on eBay and I have no idea what the white stuff is, didn't get a straigh answer from the seller, and have never actually seen these in person."

Pretty crappy and unfair thing for you to do, I must say.

Sorry. I didn't mean to do that, any mods feel free to delete or alter the title. In fairness the (?) mark was meant ot ask whether it was mackie or just a damaged pair on sale.
