Thread Starter | Opinion On What Vocal Chain Sounds Best and How does my treated room sound to you?
I have a treated booth with Cornin Owen 703. The vocal chains I have been using often are 1) AT406 > Avalon VT737 Pre/Comp > Digi 003 rack (input 5 via TRS) 2) Bluebird > Germanium Pre > Avalon 737 (Comp) > Digi 003 rack (input 5 via TRS) 3) Blueberry > Germanium Pre > Avalon 737 (Comp) > Digi 003 rack (input 5 via TRS) 4) Blueberry > Avalon VT737 Pre/Comp > Digi 003 rack (input 5 via TRS) I attached a few examples of rappers/singers titled with what chain was used. Which one do you think sounds best? and how do you think my room sounds? |

As to the gear, it's all great pro quality stuff my friend. You might consider a converter upgrade down the road, but your mics/pres/comps are fine. That being said, it's mainly flavor/color choices. Choose based on each individual singer/voice/song. A quick word on the Blueberry from personal experience. It'll do that great 251'ish thing but you need to come in just a hair closer than normal to avoid sibilance problems, especially with certain female voices. I scratched my head 'til I found their manual recommending 1-3 inches, a little on the close side (http://www.bluemic.com/images/manual...%20English.pdf) Ted | |

Do you think it's worth it to buy a rosetta 200 to add to my chain?
