A&H Reply

Hi Guys,

Just confirming that there will be an R24 on the A&H booth in Hall 8 at the Frankfurt Messe next week.
Be good to meet you if you're there.

Cheers,
Mike.

Hi Mike,

Have you any teaser shots you could send our way?

I love my R16, but damn, this thing looks awesome so far. I need a new picture for my computer desktop screen.

Hi Erik,
I had to pack & ship it before getting a chance to take some decent pictures. I'm sure there'll be a few taken on the booth at Frankfurt, but I'll also take some when it returns to show the module options etc.
Sorry we didn't get to have a good chat at NAMM, maybe next one hopefully?
Cheers,
Mike.

Hi Mike,

Thanks. I'd love to have a longer chat next year. Maybe some beers involved too? thumbsup It was nice to meet you in person regardless.

I wish you and the R24 much success in Frankfurt. (though I don't think that will be a problem.)

Have a great trip.

Erik

Thumbs up

Well, I've been checking this thread every few days for any new info on the r24. I appreaciate the info Mike.
I feel like a kid at Xmas here. The suspence is killing me.
I'm holding all purchases off on recording gear till the r24 comes out.
We're in the process of moving and I've been given the go-ahead for a studio- from the ole lady!
The r24 would be the centerpiece.
Please send any info or pics soon....you know, to string folks like me along. Lol.

Jim P.

wow..

sounds so awesome this new console, I was already happy when finding my vintage System 8 and hooking it up to 48/24 converters 16 tracks, but sounds like Allen & Heath are just producing my dream console, I mean the pre-amps and EQ's on my system 8 are still AMAZING after so many years (it's build in 1982) So I'm really stoked for it, combining so many amazing features, too bad I can't go to frankfurt :(

...Mike, did you have to re-register your Alien Health account? I see 3 posts and a different join date.

I hope you didn't get in trouble or anything over at A&H for revealing too much (you haven't, look how many people are at the start line for this!).

I'm excited for news from Frankfurt. So is my bank manager I imagine.

Wink

To Jonanathiel:
No that wasn' me, I already have it for half a year know, I got it from someone who bought it in the eighties and never did anything with it again, which was a shame, so I bought it for a nice price from him and starting caring about it, using it and loving it ofcourse Now I'm very curious about any pictures or videos from Frankfurt as well of course!

If it's cheaper? Do you mean if it is an order of magnitude cheaper?

Seriously, I don't think this thing is going to be on the same level in terms of sound as a top of the range SSL. Having said that it is going to be pretty killin for home and project studies.

MORE NEWS PLEASE .... ... SOMEBODY ?

i just meant cheaper in cost. The SSL AWS 900 is a great board, but its not that great in terms of being an SSL. There's a video on youtube of this guy going through and talking about it and he described the bus compressor as being straight out of a G series but i have mixed on an SSL 4000 G+ and an SSL AWS and the Compressor on the AWS does not add anywhere near as much of that SSL color that everyone loves.

I think in terms of value the r24 will blow the SSL out of the water.

I can say that i am definately going to be getting one.

That's cool, man, I see what you mean. I was just surprised by the 'if'. I mean, it would be pretty weird if A&H suddenly brought out a "Zed" line console that's in the same price range as the AWS 900. Rumour has it this thing is going to be in the 5000 Euro price range, which is, well, about an order of magnitude cheaper than the SSL.

OMFG!!!

Hi there,

I just returned from Frankfurt (always hate the traffic on the way back) and I took some pics with my cell phone. First of all, the console will be released as the "GS"-R24 (I think you know what I'm talking about). I talked to one of the designers who explained me almost everything that they developed so far and what maybe will be added in the next months (an appropriate PCIe card for the connection to the computer etc.). The first units will be ready for shipping in early August and the price should be around 5000,- € (enough time to save some cash ). They had PTMP running with the console and I checked the faders and mutes and everything felt just great. It also looks beautiful!!! I cannot wait to preorder it!!!!

Cheers!!!

Hmm...

I'm not sure, it was connected via ADAT optical to a M-Audio Lightbridge...
