I agree, amazing band and the lead is very talented. I saw them live in Antwerp, not having known at all who they were, but singer was a friend of a friend and got to chat with them for a bit after the show. They came to my (then) hometown in NYC a few months later, but unfortunately was not able to make the show... was out of town. I hope to see them again some time.

Saw her on a French-Canadian music award years ago on tv and was totally blown away. I loved "The Living Road": Great sound; intense and intimate vocal delivery; interesting instrumentation and 'world' influences, even if it is a pretty dark and depressing record overall. Can't wait to hear this one. Looks like it's all in English this time. |

I had the privilege of meeting her backstage in Antwerp... friend of a friend from Montreal. She had a beautiful voice and was a beautiful person. Her music lives on, but she will be missed.

Just as I see this post, a friend emails me this link Sad news/ Official press release - Communiqué officiel sur le... - Lhasa's MySpace Blog | Such a terrible shame and loss...and so young :-(... I was lucky enough to see her here in Los Angeles maybe 4yrs ago. Once at the Knitting Factory, and then at Amoeba records. Living Road is a magical album, and a bench mark recording for me. Good that her suffering is over, but damn she will be missed :-(... |
