Thread Starter | MS backing vocals
I want to do a backing vocal track (3 part harmonies blended by the singers live on an MS mic configuration) and I'll use an E47 in fig 8 but am trying to figure out the cardioid mic. I want a darker mic (since these are backing vox) and so I'm thinking SM7... other mics include: Brauner valvet (too bright) Dragonfly (too midrangey?) MC012? Maybe an RE20? If I had a ribbon mic or a second E47 I think that'd be the direction I'd go... maybe I'll go with the brighter mic and eq to taste.. any suggestions?? Ultimately I'll just figure it out during the session but if you guys would help me think this through I'd appreciate it. Thanks! |
