Thread Starter | Minimizing tone change with reamping? I'm reamping stuff for an album someone is doing with me and it will be the first time. Reamping seemed like a valuable tool so I went for it, but apon trying it, I noticed a tone change. Not as warm and round and has a quality almost a little lacking in the high frequencies. Maybe this is normal, I'm the noob. I'm using a Radial RMP, passive and the signal out the back of my Saffire Pro mono. Who knows, maybe I'm doing something wrong but it works so I doubt it. Is this slight tonal difference not really noticable and part of the reamp party? |

| Lives for gear | this may be a silly question, but were the instruments recorded direct? |

| Lives for gear | try another amp or fiddle with the current one's settings if you're not pleased with the sound...i assume your objection is to the re-amped sound and not the mic'd up tracks you'll be recording. sorry if this was redundant. |

| Make sure the output of the re amp box into the input of the amp is exactly the same as the output of the guitar when its plugged directly into the amp. I always find that for my starting point then I'll mess around tell it sounds tits. Amps will act differently when the input volume is messed around with (as well as the impedance). Also the cleaner pre amp/DI you use when recording the DI, the closer you will get to the "straight into the amp" sound. (I really do dig using a tube DI for bass before I re amp)
