Studio Planning Help

Hey everyone,

I am graduating college with a degree in Finance in May 2009. I have a great job lined up at a financial firm. On the other hand, I have been big into recording music for about 9 - 10 years. I decided to turn my studio hobby into something real on the side (weekends/nights after my "real" job). I have the gear I already own listed below, and then I have a list of gear I want to invest in. I would like to know some thoughts on my list and see if it can be tweaked to better suit my studio needs. I want to record full-bands (rock/pop/metal/etc). I will have a live room and a control with a vocal booth. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Some nice pres there. I'm sure others will have lots to say about mics.

You look a little light on the compressors. A sole DBX160A is probably not going to cut it, but I don't like software compressors. I'd invest in a couple EL Distressors before the DBX.

But mainly, how about your room? How are the acoustics? That's pretty critical.

After that:
- Coffee machine
- Lava lamp

I'm not on a set budget (not exactly at least). I wanted to arm the studio with gear first. I've worked in a basement nook my entire recording career and made some quality recordings. I'm buying a house in may/june, and building the studio there in the basement. So when you say "how are the acoustics," i have to answer with "they will be good when I build the studio myself."

I agree i'm light on compressors. I just talked to Joshua about my list, and he gave me some great insight as well, fabulous guy.
