Yes! Yea, i think that these are a secret weapon in the monitor world considering they are soo cheap if can find them! Glad i'm not alone. They are underrated because of the newer and crappier KRKs.

I think the main reason is to why they're so good is because they actually have Focal drivers, instead of the newer KRK tweeters.

Anyways, KRKs with focals forever!

Better detail than NS10m

I have 2 KRK 6000's. They're midrange forward, but with better detail and more useable than NS10m's in my opinion. You have to get used to electric guitars, vocals and other mid-range material being very forward, which can be nice from a mixing standpoint, but much different than Event ASP8's and other "scooped" sounding monitors. Nice detail, and a very decent monitor. The focal tweeters in these things are really great. Better monitor than KRK's Rokit series and some of the other budget stuff they've been producing lately.

I use KRK 6000B monitors, powered by a Carver TFM-15 amplifier. I used to have KRK RP6 monitors and the 6000's are much easier to mix with. The thing I love about the KRK 6000 is it is not fatiguing, I can listen to them for hours. The KRK RP6 was hurting my ears after an hour. To me the KRK 6000B is a bit scooped sounding compared to the NS10. The low end is much better than the NS10. I always wanted to hear the KRK 13000's but they seem hard to find.

The tweeters seem to have a foam surround that decays rather quickly though and I bought rebuild kits a while back and no one sells them anymore. I have two more rebuild kits left just in case I ever need to replace the tweeters. The way the tweeters are built is innovative because the diaphragm is easily replaceable and it is self centering. Focal makes a new series of tweeter that is titanium and I guess that is the drop-in replacement for the stock KRK 6000B tweeter. I think it is the same tweeter that is featured on Focal's own monitors nowadays.

Just picked the krk 6000 ' s
The soundstage, and depth/definition is stunning.
Very flat speakers. Good mids, but not hyped, perfect for mixing.

Old thread, but I hooked up my old pair today. I haven't heard them in about 5 years, I think I'll be using these and selling my other monitors.

I compared my 9000b's to VERY, VERY expensive mastering speakers, and they stood up incredibly well, and sounded similar, really similar.

The 6000's don't have as much bass, and the high end is a little too much for me, but they are AMAZING monitors, and you can get a recording to translate really well on them. I think they have the ability to act as a microscope on a mix.

Do the KRK 7000 (not B) deliver the same quality sound as the 6000?

I use to have the 7000B and thought they were great bang for the buck ($400 used). I sold them many years ago but have a line on a pair of 7000's.

Thank you.

I bought a pair of 6000s for $150 a few years ago. One of my best purchases ever. I use wit a hafler p1000 amp. The high end and detail on these things are incredible. They sound absolutely nothing like the vxt8s sitting next to them. While the vxt8s have a more full bottom end the overall detail can't touch the 6000s. I AB the two sets all the time and if I can get a mix good on both its a keeper.
