More Alternatives Avantone Mixcubes

anybody has a chance to audition these monitors by Grover Notting that look aimed as alternative to mixcubes?

i guess we will see other players looking for a share of the "mids" monitor market

They claim they're 4.5" cube is flat down to 100hz. Seems unlikely to me.

100Hz "plus or minus 6 dB." I'm betting on minus 6dB (at the very least), since the internal volume of the box is only about a liter, or 61 cu.in.

A while back, wanting a small, full range monitor that was more mistake-proof than an Auratone in the low end, I built a pair of speakers with 4" drivers using proper Thiele/Small math. With an internal volume of about 390 cu. in., plus a tuned port, they're only flat down to around 110 Hz.

" Both the Grover Notting CR-1 & CR-2 employ a single-driver, passive, infinite baffle design"
Granted that no loudspeaker has actually an infinite baffle, but this is just ridiculous and misleading marketing babble. Actually, I have seen no loudspeakers with less baffle surface..
