Hi,
Just want to say some opinions about ZEN after 10 months of use.
Mine is configured with pres/automation/digiout and I'm running it through Lynx Aurora to Logic DAW.

Sonically, it's a jewel and it's very well designed in terms of easy to use. I was really worried in the beginning not to have eq's, but that's really not an issue. I have now found a very nice way of working and like that a lot. I also have another 8 channels of AD and summing (Crane Song Spider) I use in every session. Still ZEN is in quality wise very good and sit's right in my setup.

I had in the beginning a small issue with one fader, but it was solved easily with the help of Finnish distributor. This is a compact, yet very powerful console and man I like the headroom, compressor!!! and professional connections. Digi-out card I don't have currently any use. Although MIDI based transport sounds old fashioned, (I was worried about that too) but it just works fine.

Would I buy this console again today? Absolutely!

I just went to the Audient website to read up on their new Faderlink plug-in (a new way to store fader automation data in your sessions), and was surprised to find the Zen console in their "legacy" section. Has it been discontinued already? It's only a couple years old...

yes it has been discontinued but I heard somewhere that a new Audient console is on the way, I'd really like to get more info about it...

Basically a 16-ch compact version of the ASP8024 with 8 less busses and a couple less aux's. Interesting console, but I'm not sure the automation and DAW control functionality found in the Zen will be available on this new console...

Regards,
Dirk

It looks cool, but I was hoping for a 16 channel version of the 2802, maybe Focusrite will do it...
