Smile fresh approach on DAW Controller

Hi there,

Just wanted to show what I stumbled upon...

Interesting to see what "small" people are able to do. It´s sad the the big companys seem not to be able to build something like this touchscreen + knobs thing in a more finished and marketable version.

Hi respects from me to the builder of this controller

Pretty cool. I just wonder why he didn't solo with the remote but using the external board solo.

1) No Space, each button has to be at least 40 pixels tall to be usable in a touchscreen
2) I tried NOT to duplicate the functions that re already at the 01v96.

Thank you all for the comments!

That plugin controller was great! I would love to see controllers take on more of a "hardware" feel like that. Not so into the touch screen idea. I just don't see something like that really holding up in a studio with multiple engineers/producers in a busy studio. Just too fragile IMO. Probably great for 1-man operations though.

The plugin controller looks AWESOME. The touch screen doesn't really interest me at all, to be honest. I've never enjoyed using them in the past for various reasons, one of which being latency issues; which that screen seems to suffer from.

amazing.....maybe steinberg will take notice, and build something before someone else does.

Is this ever going to retail?

Someone please hire this guy!

Out of curiosity how much money did you invest, Paulo, to put this interface together?

Thanks for innovating!

That is like the daw controller I've dreamt about. I'd buy one right now! The plugin controller is so insane. I can't even imagine how long it took to build.

This looks great!

Plus, it looks just like the control panel on Star Trek Voyager!

Awesome!

Some of the "buttons" look like Star Trek: The Next Generation user interfaces! Seriously!

Perhaps we can put together a group buy for the plugin controller and have the guy make it for us all?

I tried to use solely colors from star trek movies and lcars design.
In fact, the program is called star trek mixer :-)

Think this way: if I would use a touch screen, it would be best to use one that´s standard in the 23th century...

Thank You for the comment.

Money... Hmmm...
let´s see: 1 old computer for the touch screen program, that is an oldie, something like an athlon 1800+, 512mb

the touch screen itself which is about $200
an modified bcr 2000
that´s all...
perhaps a piece of glass, but that would be about $25 :-)

However, put in there 6 months of programming and debugging.

I had a lenghty discussion on how it was done at this forum:

I personally love that star trek feel.. hahaha. I'm totally gonna get one just so I can pretend to beam shit up when I'm mixing :oP

Very cool, indeed.
