It's VERY placement sensitive, in that the tone will change quite a bit depending on where you put it. In my opinion it works GREAT with another mic outside of the bass drum. With two mics you have a very large tonal pallete

it's very scooped in the mids and in particular low mids. I would want that meat from the snare.
