Thread Starter | What exactly is a pneumatic shock mount?
... And is it different from a shock mount that basically suspends the microphone with elastic? I was researching the Beta 57, and this is a feature that it has that its SM counterpart apparently does not. My question is, is this phrase a marketing tool, and if not, what exactly IS a pneumatic shock mount? Thanks in advance! |

| Yep. Anything inflated with gas would qualify. ![]() Of course, that doesn't mean that the phrase isn't a "marketing tool" - or that an inflated shock mount is necessarily better than any other suspension system.
