Thread Starter | Nord Stage Line Outputs
Hi, does anyone know if the Nord Stage line outputs are -10 dBV or +4dBu? |

You have so much power that I'm sure you can just turn up or turn down the master volume to match any required input level.

Clavia does not say anything about (neither on their website nor in the manuals), but I guess it is -10dBV or even lower. On every gig I play with my Nord Stage the sound engineers always ask me for more output level when I already have turned the volume knob to full level.

I'm actually having some problems with the level coming out of it because its going in through a pre-amp that accepts line level signals but is not a DI. I tried connecting a virus and a voyager through it and the sound/level sound just fine. But when plugging in the Nord Stage, its very very low, almost a whisper with all volume and inputs on the pre turned up. I went through the Nord Stage's documentation and it just mentions line level... I'm starting to be wonder whether or not it needs a dedicated DI to work properly? |

Thanks dkr for the update. Yeah I think it might be coming out at a pretty low level. Just to be sure (don't want to have to pick up additional equipment if not needed), has anyone seen in any documentation or from clavia directly what the output levels are?

The output level is somewhat irrelevant you are simply not getting enough even if you knew the output it wont help. ![]() How do you connect to front of house ?? 1/4" tie lines? The outputs might be balanced therefore if you use un ballanced you only have half the signal.... The behringer DIs work...they run off phantom power so have a bit of grunt. Cheap too. I know guys who insist on DIs all the time and will put up a fight if you suggest otherwise. | |

ahhh, thanks for the heads up. I went through the documentation again and it looks like the Stage88 has an unbalanced line level output, so I would definitely need to run it through a DI to work properly and change it into a balanced signal to work with the rest of my equipment. I guess I'm going to have to keep my old DI/Pre for a little while so that it plays well with the rest of my equipment. I wonder why they only made the stage88 with unbalanced outs.... |
