Studios in San Diego???

In San Diego for a week. Anyone have any suggestions on good rooms to check out while I'm here? I'm more interested in vibe than anything else, also looking to track bands here from time to time. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Try Ron Florintine's Soundwest studio here in Carlsbad, he has a nice Neotek console and good outboard. During lunch you can go down to Tamarak Beach for a swim or catch a couple of waves. Or, stop by Audio Upgrades to catch the innards of some of your favorite gear.

Studio West

Gets the job done, impresses the clients, and surprisingly affordable.

Yeah, you're just down the street! Ron is great and he's got loads of goodies to play with.

Yeah, that's Signature Sound. It's the API Legacy from Soundtracks, NY. Spectacular sounding desk. A bunch of 1073s and 1081s racked as well.

Besides what is said, Signature Sound, Soundwest, etc. Check out Audio Design and Bigfish.

Guitar Center

You know, there is no Guitar Center in San Diego for you to visit.

Some would view that as a bad thing. Some would view that as a good thing.

If you need guitar center, it is in La Mesa, that is about 15 minutes from downtown San Diego.
