Which reproduction medium has generated more income - Cassette OR MP3?

I'm talking about income for artists, producers/engineers.

I reckon cassette wins by about 20 to 1.

MP3 128 is a nightmare - technically awful sounding, and impossible to sell properly. The cassette isn't perfect, but at least it doesn't turn the top end into swishy swashy swoo.

For everyone that mocks the humble cassette, it has actually served our whole industry far better the MP3 has.

id have to say casette due to the fact its much older than mp3's and the fact that back in the day people bought casette albums as well....people mainly into mp3's are downloading songs for free...a few are buying from itunes or something like such....im just surprised people would pay for the amount you can get a full res cd for an album full of mp3's

True. But the cassettes glory days are 1980-1990 - only ten years. The MP3's glory days must be heading toward 10 years now?
