Most inexpensive sound level meter worth having?

Anything even less expensive than radio shack and still worth having?

It's not a real critical situation, just something to use when mixing.

Hey,

there actually is a iPod/iTouch SPL meter application that you can download from the Apple store for $4.99 (called SPL by "Studio Six Digital"). A friend of mine has it and it really isn't too bad. It has different speed and weighting options and you can calibrate it, too. So, if you have already have an iPhone, this is probably the least expensive solution. Unfortunately I don't have an iPhone...

I have the latest generation of iphone....i figured that the low-frequency roll-off of a phone mic would lead to inaccurate measurements of musical material - any opinion on this? I just want to be able to level-match with it.

I've got the analog radioshack spl meter and it works fine for me. It's only $45 so it's not exactly breaking the bank.

Same here. Realistic branded analog meter, with Radio Shack brand on the VU itself.

Robust, reliable, cheap and easy to use. Not sure why anyone would bother with anything cheaper.
