Keeping Itunes Library as WAV while Ipod Libarary MP3 320

What would be the best way to do this? As far as I know there is nothing in itunes which is annoying.

I have an iPod Shuffle which has an option to convert everything that enters it to 128 AAC. I don't know why Apple didn't give you the option for something higher. To this day even on my little shuffle I'll only listen to waves.

I have nothing but .AIFs in my iPod 30GB.
Then again, I don't have just tons of music.
Just some Elvis, Beatles, Zappa, ZZ Top, Stevie Wonder, Frank Sinatra and Jimmy Bryant stuff.

I import as .AIFs into iTunes on a G5 and download them the iPod.

I just can't STAND listening to .mp3s and only the .AIFs sound decent on my Sensaphonic earbuds.

nvm I figured it out, simple.

1.)When Importing music into Itunes, in the preferences, have your import setting of audio format set to whatever you like. In my case WAV
2.)When wanting to convert (in my case WAV to MP3), go back to that setting, change it to the format you want to convert to (my case MP3).
3.)After changing setting, go back to library, select all the music you want to convert, right click, and you will see an option to convert to the current format that is selected in preferences. convert it!
4.) Itunes will create new files in the new format, once on your ipod, delete the extra mp3s.
5.) Return to audio format import setting and change it back to how you want it for when importing into Itunes.

anyways, I got Ipod touch 32gb as an xmas gift, was going to exchange for Ipod Classic 120gb so I could have most my library in WAV, but decided, I'll stay with touch and use mp3... when they come out with an Ipod touch that is 120gb I will trade in for it.

Just a thought, don't use mp3. Mp4 sounds so much freaking better, seriously.

Of course that's an option but that's a lot of work each time you fill your iPod up. I like putting only one album on mine at a time as full waves. Then it becomes more of a lay down or sit with the headphones on and listen to the album sort of old school thing.

Totally, I put full albums on mine as well... only ones I like to play through though.

This is what i need!

StumbleUpon WebToolbar

at 50mb per WAV song, you could have 10 000 000 songs.

but even this would suffice

A terabyte iPod - and other Apple predictions - Nov. 14, 2005

at 50mb per WAV song, you could have 20 000 songs.
