HOSA PRD-369 question

i know that HOSA makes pretty cheap stuff, but i heard some people on this forum recommend this unit. my question is this: does an xlr patchbay like this (i think that's what you would call it, sorry if im calling it the wrong thing) alter the sound going in and out of it at all? im running api 3124 pres into a rosetta 800 with mogami gold cables, and i just don't want a bunch of cables lying around on the floor for me to trip over. am i sacrificing sound quality for convenience? im just not knowledgeable in the field of patchbays, I appreciate your insights. thank you!

This is just wire to wire stuff. No loss of sound quality. You will be fine.

The unit may not stand up to the rigors of live use...that's where the lower quality of this unit would show.

Good luck,
David

I've got a PDR-369 and find it an essential tool in my studio. I keep all of my pre-amp inputs wired up to the backside and bring in mic inputs from cables distributed around the studio to the front. I've had no issues with the build quality. It may be a little bit flimsy, but it's not subjected to abuse, so it's stood up fine.

I've got two and have been using them for the past year and a half without any problems.
