Hey, I was wondering if any of you r using SF-24 stereo ribbon microphone for drum overheads... Will this be kind of boring? Better to have a pair of 121´s, 122´s? PUPO SF-24 stereo ribbon microphone |

I think it's great for certain styles, players, and rooms. If the room's height is low, you won't have as good results IME. They handle EQ very well, and pair up nicely with all sorts of pre's (even cheapy pre's in digi packaged systems). All and all, I'd consider it to have a less "modern" sound, and more of a smoother "how it used to sound" sound. Here's an example of the SF-12 on OH's and the SF-24 on percussion (both players next to each other): http://gearslutz.com/board/showthread.php3?t=23780
