Compressor Setup/ cable hook up scenarios?

What is the basic hook up can it be done without a mixer?

I have a powermac g5 2core

a virus Ti desktop

an apogee Duet audio interface

a power amp

Event monitors

Software logic pro 8

Any diagrams for a basic elysia compressor hook up? what do i need to make the loop?

curentlly it looks like with my current setup it cant be done :( ?

How do you guys have yours set up?

Basically i wanna use it for loops in logic? and also for my virus ti synth

Can anyone make an explanation of a simple hook up?

I guess you are using your Apogee Duet for monitoring your DAW sum signal, correct? In this case you do not have enough outputs for inserting the mpressor 'in a loop' - you'd need two outputs to your power amp, two further outputs to the mpressor's inputs and two inputs for the signals from the mpressor's outputs.

For your application you'd need an I/O interface with at least 2 inputs and 4 outputs. The only thing you could do at the moment is to place the mpressor directly between the Virus and your I/O interface and record the signal generated this way 'live'.

By the way, please take care that you do not activate the phantom power option on the Duet while the mpressor is hooked up - this can do serious harm.

Ok so here it goes, im waiting on an answer from Ensemble, How do i get to hear the mpressor thru Ensemble? I have it set so far that i get sound inside the mpressor but for some reason the Analog Ins are not working? Anyone using an external compressor with their ensemble? This thing is nuts- i tried ins 3/4 as well but no luck!

Im runing the ensemble outs to Mpressor, and the Mpressor outs to Ensemble ins? I cant hear the mpressor for the life of me, any ideas? Im totally lost!

How can i set this thing up so i can select the mpressor on an individual track in logic pro? anyone know this?

Ok, so i have the mpressor going thru an I/O plugin inside logic but the latency is horrible, i tried the 64 buffer size and the latency logic plugin and still nothing. Anyone has an idea? anybody using a compressor with ensemble? if so how do you hook it up?

i figured it out, the Maestro Mixer main out was set to "NONE" and i set it to analog 1/2 and now it works, i just have to figure out latency
