Bob Katz Mastering Audio Volume 1 or 2?

I want to purchase Bob Katz' Mastering Audio: The Art and Science, but I'm not sure which one to get. Volume 1 or Volume 2? I believe volume 1 was made in 2002 and volume 2 was made in 2007 so maybe volume 2 has more up to date techniques (itb). I think they might have volume 2 at borders and barnes and noble also. I just want to hear from you which would be a better, more informative buy. Thanks

Jeff

I recently got Vol 1 at a book store used.
First off, mastering bores the piss out of me, but I have to master more and more at my studio due to lack of budgets.
I found he had some great tips on how to improve your mix before mastering.
Its still a snooze fest for me, but probably one of the best I've read so far.
Reminds me, I've gotta get back to it, thanks!
No Offense to Bob, he has a great book here, its just me!

the most recent would definitely be the best as it includes up to date info.
i haven't read the 2nd edition and have read the 1st edition - it's a great book all round

There's a 2nd edition, not a 2nd volume. Meaning it's been updated and revised, so it's better. It's not like there are two volumes covering separate material. So get the 2nd edition.
