Drawmer, dbx, value for munie...

Looking to add a couple of pre-loved budget workhorses to the stable. I own a

Distressor,
LA2A,
1178,
SSL FXG384
and 2 RNCs.

I was looking at the

Drawmer DL 221 & DL 231
dbx 160a, 166 & 266

Got any input as to which of these models are particularly crap or good value for the cash?

Cheers...

Don't know about the Drawmers, but as far as the DBX comps you listed the only one I would get is the 160A. The 266 and 166 are fine for live sound, but I wouldn't use them for recording. The 266 also has some annoying features like unbalanced outputs, and a bulky power supply.

Look on ebay. You can get some awsome deals on 160's.

The Drawmers are pretty decent, but you may want to look into the BSS or even the Klark Teknik comps. BSS especially has some pretty cool ones that allow frequency conscious compression without getting into full on multiband compression
