Translation problems

I know translation depends on monitors, system its being played, room acoustics and ect.My question is why does it sound different from one program to another. For instance I bounce a live drum loop from protools to use in FL studio. When I get it in FL studio it sounds different. Then I make my instrumental and export it from FL studio. Then I put it in adobe audition to do some quick mastering. All in 16 bit 44k.But from each program to the next it sounds way different. And this is before I do any processing to it.Why?

Are there some processing (dither, level optimizing, sample rate convert) default settings that you are missing buried somewhere deep down in the user parameters? Were the loops started at 16 bit 44.1? Are you sure?

Yeah there were start 44K 16bit cause I recorded them live.As far as dithering I didnt have any dithering plugins in PT.There is something about dithering in the export options of FL.I have mine to 64 syn.Can you explain dithering and its protocol of do's and dont's.Can I bounce someing from 16 bit to 24 bit? What about vice versa. If I start with a 16 bit 44K Sample and I process it in PT,then bounce it down to sequence in FL Studio, then finally import it in Adobe Audition to hard limit and fade out,WHAT WOULD BE THE PROCESS AS FAR AS DITHERING GOES?Sorry about the long run on sentence, but I am unfortunately ignorant when it comes to sample rate, bit depth conversions and dithering.
