Brush Snare Sounds - Would Samples be Sufficient

I'm looking to add a brush snare sound to a song with acoustic guitar, vocals, and bass guitar. Are there sample libraries available that can help me achieve realistic brush sounds? One other option is to buy a snare, practice my brush technique, and record (have good recording tools to do so). Looking to mimic Norah Jones or Astrud Gilberto brush recordings.

Or maybe you could just buy the brushes and try to get a sound out of them "playing" over different materials. Once I heard a pretty good brush groove a guy played on a telephone list.

Brushes..

I think static sounds like a single hit (snare/tom/kick), even at multiple velocities work, but I haven't heard anything realistic when it comes to brushes.. they are too legato.
Instead of buying a drum, and working on making it happen.. hire me to play brushes on the tune. I can send you something to hear if you are interested. I have top quality gear..
No worries if not..

Being a drummer, I would think that trying to recreate what brushes do with samples would be incredibly frustrating. Its a very organic thing.

By the same token...its a chip shot for a good drummer. Why make yourself crazy??

another drummer here to report that getting a trained drummer to play it is the best route. brushes aren't just used to reduce volume, there are many, many, many different sounds you can coax from a drum with brushes. combine that with someone stirring the soup well and it will be impossible (in my view) to replicate that sound and feel using samples.
