Dell LCD Monitor "Popping" & "Crackling"

About a week ago I started hearing this popping and crackling sound in my studio. I finally tracked it down to the new Dell 17" monitor I just bought. This thing sounds like somebody is twisting it and trying to break it. I completely unhooked it, but it still does it.

I have had several TV's that have done several things, but never a monitor.

Anybody else have this happen?

Can anybody recommend a fix?

This isn't subtle either. It's quite audible.

Thank you,
Higgs

Does the monitor have a separate power supply/wall wart? If so try moving that farther away from the gear if possible, my 2 lcd's have this going on. I found when the psu's are close to the mixer I hear a slight electrical whine.

This one doesn't have a wall wart. And the monitor is still doing it sitting across the room in a chair not hooked up to anything. My guess is it's the plastic case causing it, but I dunno for sure. I'm considering opening it up and seeing if I can find the problem.
