Manley ELOP: Good Compliment for Distressor and DBX 160X

I'm in the market for another compressor, and the ELOP came to mind. I love the Distressor and 160X on bass and drums, but I was wondering if I would notice an improvement on vocals with ELOP.

Also, since it's stereo, how does it work on the bus? Or maybe stereo acoustic guitar (which I hardly ever for because it often sounds unnatural to me)?

I love my ELOP, and find that it's great for some vocals, bass, and some acoustic guitars. It's very hi-fi, and has a pretty top, sheen-y kind of thing.
I've not had luck the couple of times i've tried it on the 2 bus, but that's no reason not to try it !

I think I use my distressor a bit more than the ELOP, but I still use it a bunch.

best DD

I don't think I'm going to find anything that works on the mix buss and vocals.

I was thinking a Summit TLA-100A, they are fairly cheap used, but I could find an ELOP around $1400-$1600. But, then the idea of JoeMeek SC2 arose. I could get a TLA-100A and a JoeMeek SC2 for the price of the ELOP.

I know of a couple compressors that work well on both vocals and stereo buss... I've used the Smart C2 successfully on vocals and 2 buss in the past, and currently use the Aurora GTC2 (which is bigger sounding, has a wider variety of compression styles, and I don't have to fight the automatic bass loss that the Smart/ SSL buss compressors suffer from).

TLA-100A would be a great choice to compliment a 160 and Distressor. Especially, if you want something primarily for vocals or bass.

I think I'll give the Summit a try.
