ANother sync/clock question

Any help here would be appreciated as I've not had to worry about this stuff much before.

I've been running a Tascam interface with an ADA8000 and a Lexicon MPX-500.
Tascam is set as master, the ADA takes clock from the tascam over adat and the Lexicon takes clock from the tascam via s/pdif. Simple.

Now I've replaced the Tascam with an RME 9652 and added a soundcraft spirit 328 digital console.
All this stuff arrives mid-week, so I've been looking at ways to hook everything up in sync.

I've been through the 328 manual and there is no reference to it being able to accept clock via adat.
But maybe it can. Why wouldn't it?!

I was thinking:

RME as master, sending clock to 328 over adat, Lexicon attached to 328 via s/pdif, and ADA takes clock as before from RME adat out.

But this will only work if the 328 does actually take clock over adat, and it sends that clock signal on to its s/pdif outs.
Two rather large assumptions at this point.

Or will I need to make a bnc connection between the rme and the 328, and have the MPX attached directly to the rme s/pdif connections?

I can't order cables until I know what I need

Found out the 328 doesn't read clock from its adat inputs, so bnc it is. Still don't know about the s/pdif thing. Have asked soundcraft, they should know.

I hope to conclude this thread with a third and final confirmatory post from myself

By some divine stroke of luck, there were a pair of bnc to rca adapters in teh box so it's running off the interface clock fine via s/pdif cable, and I wired up the lexicon via analogue to just take that unit out of the equation.
I can't really test it properly because the optical cables and midi cable for the rme haven't arrived yet

Got my synth wired up and playing around with it, the query mode is really cool, just hold down the group 1 button for example and all channels routed to that group will light, can do the same with the EQ In button to see which channels have eq applied, same with the phase button etc.

The lexicon effects are nice, same as my mpx500 but with fewer param menus, the dedicated smpte readout and transport section is great, so I can control cubase via MMC, and there's even dedicated locate points, only 2, but you can change them on the fly so good for marking out editing areas.
There's serious gain on this thing, and I had fun being an idiot for a while with the monitor section, was really baffled by some behaviour at one point until I swapped the cable out and realised that it wasn't passing a full signal!
Mental.
Beautifully made unit though, plastic side cheeks but other than that all steel, it's a lot bigger and rugged than it looked in any of the pictures I saw, it's gorgeous actually.

Most importantly of all though, it delivered a hardware fix above and beyond the call of duty, good job!
