Hi all, i'm looking at getting a large diaphragm condenser for general vocal duties. i live in europe so german mics are always cheaper for me than american ones (and vice versa for you guys). i have searched for reviews of these mics but haven't come up with many opinions. anyone using them? cheers, hugh. |

It's a great mic. It's got a particular sound to it though.

I used the phantom AE and think it´s the same thing. Loved it on vocals with a darker preamp, just find a dealer and try it to make a decision, which depends on your personal taste

Hey thanks for the replys guys, when you say it is different sounding or has it's own sound could you elaborate more please? sorry, i know describing sound is a pain. i'm a location recordist and i use schoeps mics. i'd like to get a big condensor for some general overall duties at home (music and maybe some voice over). just so happens the brauner is around the 1000 euro mark which was about the most i was hoping to spend. from what i read the brauner would appear to be a high end mic, i kind of guessed it would be quite neutral sounding, am i right? cheers, hugh. |

I love mine. It's extremely detailed, which is what I was looking for. Also: nice and bright. When buying, I have compared it to Telefunken AK47, and Neumann TLM103, and decided on Brauner. I feel that the money was well spent, and the mic served me exactly how I hoped it would. Highly recommended. p. |
