Hey, like many a genius I was laughed at, but now of course everyone is picking up $10,000 pre-amps, and that's why you are seeing all these consoles and other vintage gear getting dumped. The truth is finally revealed that you don't need a Neve console or a Fairchild or a 70s 251, if you have a $10,000 pre-amp.

And when he played that trumpet solo during the moonwalk. I remember looking around the living room and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Of course, you couldn't hear it because of the vacuum and all, and he almost died when his cheeks puffed up and stopped up the air intake valve. But stil, it was a very emotional moment.

You know, after reading this thread, it really shows the age of some of these posters... No offence, but I think you would be better with a post-amp. Preamps are a little dated.

I'd write more but you'll just have to google it. my bff is roohg.

Peace (the Neil kind)

Ever since I changed all my wiring to adamantium, the sound quality has that new school vintage vibe.

As more and more clueless newbies come into the business, believing that you can emulate a $10,000 pre-amp with a plugin, the market for quality hardware of this sort has begun to deteriorate. I don't care if you do work at Burger King, if you aren't willing to save up and buy a quality pre-amp, you'll never get my respect as a musician.

I see from your recent review that you love the somewhat modest UA 610. Boy, that global financial crisis must have knocked your expectations waaaay down. Now can we please start a discussion on the options available for a $9400 mono analogue synth with just one unblanced output, exactly 49 keys (no aftertouch permitted!), and a single 4 pole filter.....

Whatever the synth you won't get a single decent sound as long as you don't run it thru a good vintage pre
