Has anyone ever worked with ARSELECT.COM?

I just got a message on myspace saying they liked my bands music. I thought it was spam at first but they actually named a few of our songs.

Anyways I think you have to pay some kind of fees, which seems a bit fishy. So I was wondering if anyone here has ever worked with arselect. If so, is it worth it?

Thanks!

That group seems legitimate, but you can never tell.

If there's a fee, I'd assume it's along the same lines as hiring a radio tracker and paying for the service. Nothing wrong with that, as long as the service is quantifiable and worth the money.

I've gotten about 30 of these messages on my page... all from different people.

I've learned not to go by anything that anyone sends you unsolicited on myspace... I have 5 million plays, so I get a lot of traffic on my music page.

The key here is if the message starts with "We really like your band's music and want to offer you...."

My music page is not a band, so you know these people don't even listen to the music and are using automated systems to email people.

I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.

What? "Recto-lingus"!?

Second that. Incredible. Either an unintended or deliberately disastrous denomination of a bisnis. No imprint, contact. Images are floating everywhere, only to be picked up. Limited mind trying smartass??

Yeah this is what I would have thought. BUT they named one of the songs that they really liked, and it just happened to be our best one (not the one with the most plays)

So it leaves me to believe they actually DID listen to our stuff.

Hmmmm

So, you're gonna pay them money because they listened to your song?

I've been in this business for more than 20 years.

I have two rules for you:

1. If you require a service, you should go out and find someone to do it.

2. If someone is coming to you, they should be footing the bill.
