D-Box Noisy Talkback Mic

My D-Box's talkback mic is noisy enough to be unusable unless I turn it WAY down and talk 1" away from it. Is this typical for the unit?

I just got it back from a non-related repair (which Dangerous has been totally cool about), and I know they had to take the faceplate off for this - which meant ungluing the mic. Perhaps it was damaged in the proces...
