Soundtoys Echoboy

Has anyone used Echoboy?
I have heard alot of Slutz say it is the best echo for PT ever.
If that is the case.
My question is why is it the best Echo ever?

I will take a stab at this. I love it because it gives me all the vintage delay styles with more control and opitions than Echo Farm. It sounds warmer than Echo Farm to my ears. It has a width control so I can use a Echoplex style tape slap but I can also offset the sides to add some width. I can tweak the groove and the feel of the delay in the temo section. I can add saturation, and I can tweak the output sound between different settings of warmth, distortion, clean etch. Not to mention that it has more delay models in the plugin than Echo Farm has.
My only complaint is that it still takes up a complete Accel chip just like Echo Farm, but since it sounds so good I will live with that.

Try out the demo and I would bet you will see for yourself.

I would bet that when you do you will be wondering why you were using Echo Farm all this time. Hurry though, the discounted deal is running out.

I should also mention that I have all the Soundtoys products, (Minus 1 I think) and they are a great company and really great people to deal with.

Playback, if you PM me your email, I'll send you the Echoboy demo. It's 10.1 mb if your email can handle that.

Has anyone else noticed that echoboy is glitchy when changing the time constant (i.e. for mono delay dive bombs, sfx, etc.)? I think echofarm and my dm-2 may still be better at this...

That being said, it's still a terrific plug-in and I'm only holding on to a few key delay hardware units based on this thing....

Anyone got a contact e-mail for soundtoys?

The only way to contact through their site is via a sales support form I prefer it when companies are more accessible to queries..

The site says the introductory price ends May 23rd and May 25th, I'd like to know which date is correct..

Used it on a mix today in anger, sounded really cool; full of nasty space echo goodness and some great saturation features - We need more filth in this world !There was one thing, however which left me totally puzzled - sod all automation of any parameters ..surely some mistake or just missing from the demo ?!

I'm so f@cking jealous.....please get over the Digidesign dictatorship and create it as a VST for other platforms. Take the URS road and expand to AU an VST. It's a shame to be only for Digi platform......

I like it because the presets are quite good, and I can modify them and dial in stuff very quickly.... when I am mixing fast.

my demo just ran out! and i forgot to test dsp usage at 96k on echoboy

I run an HD non-accel setup.... if someone else has the capability, could you see if you can load a tdm echoboy in a 24/96 session??? Im hoping that it doesnt need accel for 96k

I recommend checking out the PSP version of the Lexicon PCM42 as well as Nitro and the 84. In VST, DX, RTAS and HTDM, Mac and Win.

I have Echoboy and a the PSP delays too. Can't have enough, right?

Are the SoundToys plugs only for TDM or can you rock them in LE too? (specifically echoboy)

Since I own Echo Boy I hardly use any other delay. If you get into Echo Boys programming features, it´s a really really good sounding and usable delay.

I´d go for it anytime ! thumbsup

I love Echo Boy. I'm contemplating adding a PCM 42 (hardware) will it add to the delay sound palette ?
