Thread Starter | I tried a friend's Demeter RV-1 recently. While it sounded good, I didn't think it was versatile enough to warrant the high price. The sound was really smooth, which could be a good thing ot bad thing depending on what you are looking for. So I am curious about the Vermona Retroverb... how do you think it compares to the RV-1? Thread Starter | Unfortunately I have no way of checking one out, and I am having trouble getting feedback from people who have used them. |

| I played with a vermona retro when I was in Germany a couple years ago, and I own a Demeter... to me they're not the same kind of beast. The vermona seemed more like a funky filter processor, that had a simple spring verb attached to it, while the demeter seems like a straight-forward but (to me at least) surprisingly flexible sexy spring and that's it. I had a *lot* of fun playing with the vermona in the store, but I already had a demeter, and I have other toys I use for filter processing type stuff so I didn't pick it up. I did think about picking it up for my live guitar rig though... Not sure if that helps you at all, but those were my general impressions. |

| I haven't heard the Vermona, but I own a Demeter and i love it. I like it on vox and guitars, but have yet to try it in drums, though i'm sure I eventually will. It's pretty straight forward, and like all Jim Demeter's gear, is built really well. It's got a short decay channel and a long decay channel. It is certainly worth checking out. It's a great sounding spring... Mark Cattano Magneto Studios MySpace.com - Mark Cattano - Huntington, US - Rock / Alternative / Progressive - www.myspace.com/markcattano |
