Soundcraft 1624 or Not?

Hi Folks

I recently inherited an old Soundcraft desk, and am having some trouble identifying its model number. The clues are as follows:

24 mono channels 6101's
master section 6110
16 buss on 8x 6111's
comprehensive bantam patchbay
16 bargraph meters, 2 VU needle style meters
All EDAC connectors on the rear for 64 tielines
SIP, but no SFE buttons.

It has one identifying sticker - which states MX616P followed by a serial number, underneath.

I thought it was a 1624, but the manual PDF I have does not document 6101's, but something else entirely with 2 mute busses and SFE buttons...

Can anyone help? I need a service manual/operation manual - SIP leaves 4 channels unmuted on selection which I "think" is a fault - unless there is some hidden function I am unware of.

Thanks in advance.

DD.

It spent most of its adult life in a BBC outside broadcast van. It's wierd, it has tape 1-24 on EDAC but no buss o/p's apart from the patchbay. Still figuring out what I need to press it into 24 track tape recording in our studio. We have ProToolsHD but love analogue!!

I'm guessing I need an i/o module for the back of the desk that is missing? I guess I jump the tieline EDACs via the patchbay...

PS. Just checked your website out - nice rig you're running.

The modules seem to indicate 600 series, but I am far from an expert in these matters!

Notwithstanding, I need to track down those EDAC pinouts.

It seems to work well enough - resoldered the PSU and it's all systems go. Save for the SIP issue... 4 channels don't respond to SIP or SOLO. Its as if they are immune (or perhaps modified by a previous engineer!)

I would agree. It looks like an early 600 series. I have a 1624 and a 1600 and they look quite different.
