URS Saturation over the buss

Hey,

Has anyone tried the URS saturation plug across the two buss? A number of people are speculation that some of the magic of the summing mixers is from the transformers, e.g. with the neve 8816. Today I loaded the Vintage King summing shootout into my DAW and tried the URS saturation demo across the protools 2-buss to see if I could emulate the neve 8816 or the chandler, which I like.

Could I replicate it exactly? No, but with the motor city plug, I ould get a lot of the tone and seemingly depth of the summing mixers.

Has anyone else tried this? Any thoughts?

Sure, why not. I think the American transformer is the most hi res setting of the bunch, so that would probably be what you are looking for. Plus the blend function makes it easier to dial it in.

PS, I find it works way better as a virtual tape deck on the bus than the Massey tape head plug. Much more subtle, and retains the highs better.
