| Robbie Williams "Feel" Listening to Robbie Williams "Feel" recently has me wondering what mic was used for vocal. I've always liked the tune and lyric, but just noticed how great (appropriate) the vocal sounds in relation to the track. Any one know the mic used on "Feel"? |

| I really like that track - and I agree that the vocals fit really well. Actually, that whole album is pretty good. Things sort of went downhill when he didn't partner with Guy Chambers on the next album. They are a good team.

| I think one of the secrets behind the music is a pedal steel player called Melvin Duffy. Quite a lot of what might be thought to be electric guitar is actually him playing pedal steel. I hired him to play on an album one time that was all session musicians but all the players seem to bow and tip their hats to him as a true genius talent. (and he was) He really is amazing, you can hear his work all over Robbie's first big hits. There can be a celestial / "soaring soul" to slide playing and Melvin has that x 100 .. V clever of Robbie's producers to make use of his talent - it really is a cornerstone of those productions IMHO.

| Melvin D. is a great player. My local honky-tonk outfit did a couple of London gigs with him. When he starts playing it's everything you would want from a steel guitar player PLUS a heck of a lot you'd never have thought the instrument capable of. And he's a nice guy..!! |

| Yeah, exactly. he seems to have a 5th gear he can drop into - and then he's up there surfing in the stars with us mortals just hanging around on earth... it really is magical. But I suppose people bring in Pedal Steel for exactly that type of magic.. Its just nice to be in the same room as the "wizard" doing his stuff I guess. All the best Preben, lets meet up before the year is over OK?..
