Question about Stacked Vocals !!!

I'm mixing a few tunes in the bag of Youssou Ndour. The melody is made up of 4 vocal tracks. It is a 3 part harmony with usually the lower part doubled making up the 4 parts.
Now, any suggestion in lowering the natural chorus effect of the stacked vocals ?? Thanks

Try Autotune stike

...isn't that chorus effect a desired one?

pan the lower harmonies wide. or if you dont want any chorusing, dont use the second lower harmony at all, just one take of lead and each of the 2 harmonies.

i would have doubled/quadrapled all of them though...

If you are not liking the chorusing effect of the harmonies stacked against each other I don't know what to say. That's the effect of a chorus!

However, if you aren't liking the chorusing effect of a doubled part * itself *, try recording the double with an omni mic to give it a totally different space. And record the double in livelier part of the room.

Well, maybe i'm not explaining myself properly. I guess i'll try to post an example....
I'm very aware that whenever you stack vocals and harmony, there will be a nautural chorus effects but i just find it sometimes way to thick, the chorus effect that is !!!
If you listen to stuff like Take 6. Man, there's is some major harmony and double/triple tracked vocal going on at the same time but it sounds very airy and in your face and you hardly hear that thick chorusy effect at all !!!

Have you tried high-passing the harmonies? Getting rid of most of the fundamental pitch energy might help.

Vocalign plugin on pro tools may also work, if you dont have this plug you can always nudge the offending sections yourself, lign them up until the phasiing, chorus effect is to your satisfaction.

I agree with nudging the words so they line up (if they are a problem), but the chorus effect is usually a good thing, unless someone is out of tune. Pan it out and enjoy.

Vudoo, this singer you are working with in Canada wouldn't happen to be named Musa, would he? Just curious.
