I love my Germanium pre...but...

i think i might be selling it in the next couple of days. i have somewhat recently acquired some SCA pres, including the N72, and i am finding it to be my go to pre on everything!
i still love my germanium, especially for the thick setting, but i can't justify keeping it when my $340 pre is consistently beating it out on everything. in fact, i have an A12 on the way and if it sounds as good as the N72 then i am selling my 2 API 512's, which might make me cry cause i really love them!

i'll probably use the cash to get some comps to add to my distressor and portico comp...maybe get an la3a or couple of purple actions.

is there anything i might be missing in all this before i sell them off?

don't think you are missing ANYTHING.

if it does not work for you...it does not work for YOU.

i love my germs...they work for my aesthetic...i would not want to work without them....i also love my dakings...they work as well...same deal.

i've used the sca stuff...its GREAT stuff.

your EARS are your best guide. if the n72 blows you away....keep on pluggin stuff into it and make music !!

all the best,

PM me if it's 500 and you decide to sell. I'm borrowing one now and it works well for my thin, scratchy voice. I'll do more testing, but might be in the market for a used one.
