| Gear addict | 70's and 80's Free Jazz Studio pics and stories ERAS Digital Rec. A Freedom Rec.
Of a younger age i was a child in the 80's (did see some killer jazz and reggae in the decade) and now have really grown to enjoy the jazz of the late 70's and 80's, some more out there stuff like the Human Art Ensnmble the Chicago Art Ensemble, all the amazing Enja and ECM stuff and loads of others, and getting quite fusioned out too, Dave Liebmen , But finding this forum to be pretty rock focused i was hoping to open up some discussion on the amazing recording that was done by the studio's and engineers in and around this music at this time, pictures ,stories, details about mics rooms and gear, the feel in the studios, the mix of old and new , and the general feeling of musicians and studio's trying something new! Tips and tricks, and if you recorded a record i have (all my jazz is vinyl ) know you rule. Jaffa |
