Billy Joe / Green Day vocal recording chain.

Does any know or has anyone seen anything on what Green Day uses in the studio for Billy Joe Armstrong's vocal chain? My voice is similar to his in a lot of ways so I'd be curious as to what they use. I always like how they get him sounding up and in your face, especially thru mellower passages.

Nice close up of him tracking in this video. I can't tell what kind of mic it is though.

I remember reading somewhere that he used an M49 on the last album.
