Thread Starter | Arena Rock vocal delay/reverb ala 80's AOR style
Hello. I'm trying to get that 80's fake arena rock AOR delay/reverb thing that some of the top hit mixers use or used on the lead vocals..80's flavor.I guess the Bryan Adams"cuts like a knife" album is the most extreem example.I know its Bob C mixing it but...What are the tricks used.Is it paralleling a couple of 42's....one quarter not...one 8th...Is it tape delays?Space echo's?..Is there something that always works or is it trial and error? Is it a combination of short and long delays and an ams?.I notice there's alot of processing on those Bob Rock loverboy vocals...sort of the your in a big arena concert sound.I know it's cheese ball....but I'm workin on something that begs for it.I can get close but I wanted to now if there was one old school technique that was a standard that was copied that always worked.-Thank you! |
