Massive thanks to Nick for some great sax work.

Alrighty......heres my entry for the bass guitar.
My favorite word...or at least my favorite that came to mind was "reverberation."
I had a little fun with this one. Starts out with me simply saying the word, then modulating it to my liking. It really is a musical sounding word I think, as you can hear by the end it almost has its one little melody to it depending on how you say it. I threw in a midi bass guitar along with the vocals, being that the contest is for one! Of course I also drowned everything in some nice reverb
As for why I need a bass guitar, well I bought one 2 years ago to help out my church band. They ended up finding another bassist and I was able to play trumpet with them full time. I ended up selling my bass when the other bassist joined and MAN do I regret it. I loved the thing....I'll most likely use it for song writing. I've always fancied the idea of starting my own praise/worship band....seems like I have most of the bases covered, no pun intended!

Wow, just found out that an old classmate died on Saturday. No one I knew too well personally, but a tragedy for the mother. This is the third death in recent memory in her immediate family, her husband passed recently (a couple of years back) in his fifties, and her daughter was murdered right outside of a bar about 7-8 years ago. The worst part is that her only surviving child seems to be a waste of flesh and oxygen from my understanding.
As for how he passed, the theory from people I know (and knowing his past, this is a likely possibility, as sad as it is), is that he OD'd. The obit officially states that he died "suddenly," but regardless.
Regardless, I'm not a typical religious person, but still, prayers, thoughts, condolences. And keeping with this thread, the family has asked donations be made to Make a Wish instead of flowers.
Sorry to down the thread a bit.
Sleep time for me. |

I think my first favorite word was "bum", I can't remember but I'm guessing it was mostly based on the meaning. My older brother taught me how to write it, I must have been about 4 and I wrote it all over our house and our neighbors house in permanent marker. 20 years later I went back to visit the house, and it was still on the insides of cupboards and things like that
then a couple of years later I liked "turquoise". I just liked the sound of the word, so I always used the turquoise crayons whenever colouring anything.
Then years later at high-school I liked the word "nipple". There was something particularly humorous about it. We had a whole genre of jokes revolving around the word. Not least of which was taking famous film names, and replacing one word with the word "nipple". eg "nipple on elm street", or "rebel without a nipple"
I always liked "shenanigans" too. My parents always told me "now don't get up to any "shenanigans" whilst we're out". But I never knew what the definition of the word is, so I never knew if I was getting up to them or not!
Nincompoop is a great one too.
And even as an adult I like playing with words. Usually either saying them backwards, or spoonerisms or. Some words are just part of my normal vocabulary these days, and I often use them forgetting that they won't be understood, for example in context:
- I'm hungry, lets get some doof
- there's not enough beds, so bring your beeping slag.
- Im going to catch a sub into town
I would love the bass, I've always wanted a mustang, but I think perhaps you should give it to someone else since I'm already a pro bass player, so my post above is just out of interest.

"Shenanigans" has always had a little place in my heart.
The NT55s arrived this morning Nick, I will be giving them something to do this evening and then 'big recording month' starts next week. Then to the next lucky person!

| Pat's Mustang...
my Favourite word??
gotta be Serendipity. lovely word:
"Seren", like "serene", sympathy, etc;
"serendi", almost like "surrender"
surrendering yourself (maybe unwillingly, but still...) to possibilities unknown to you, but still having an element of "Pity", or a deep relevance that speaks with you, right down to the core.
lovely word, and its meaning never evokes a bad thing
gonna sort out a sound sample soon....
