Cool thread. I think we usually let interns take home gear that we don't use anymore but I'll go look in the garage later tonight. I would love to join in!

Lets keep it rolling...

I got two EV630 dynamic-omni-hi/lo Z (the "salt shaker"). They are missing their 4 pin cables so I have never been able to hook'em up tp anything (they were digged from an old radio station's left overs locker and look a little dirty, but some polishing will make'em shine). PM me and it's yours.

I'll try and find more stuff. Rawbeanzen, you da man!

F.

EDIT: TAKEN!

Neil in New Zealand just grabbed my books and DVD. Neil I hope your students get good use of them. Damn, it feels good sending stuff to the other side of the world to help out others.

Next on the block.... 25 Auralex foam wedges. Id rather not ship these, so if your in or around the Eastern Connecticut area, take a nice drive down by the ocean, enjoy the day, stop in and grab em!!

PM if intersted and I'll give you directions.

I just upgrade the RAM in my MacBook, so since I'm getting a book in the mail from gearaddict I'll put these up for grabs:

RAM has been claimed.

You know what made me decide you were the guy?

Other than the compelling story, you went out of your way to encourage me to choose others if they were clearly less fortunate than yourself.

That's the spirit, and that's why you won.

It's all olivia_nb's fault....he started it in another thread!

I just took the ball and ran a little, and I have to say people have totally exceeded whatever expectations I might have had.

I'm just delighted, folks.

For starters, if there's anyone who truly appreciates their Art, Blue-Tube, or other low-end gear and has no hope of upgrading anytime soon, I will send you some vintage tubes to help you improve the sound quality of your gear. Don't PM me if you aren't really in need because I am having a terrible month and have been struggling to pay bills myself.

I'm going to give everyone some time since some people are just refreshing this thread every 5 minutes, hoping for a hand-out (I don't mean you), then I'll see who needs what and evaluate how much love I have to spread around. If I can get a good price for my 89' U87a i, I'll have a lot more love to spread around.

What a great thread...

I am going to go through my "no longer being used" pile and donate something in the spirit of giving.

I think we could all use a bit of good will in these crazy times.

I can relate to the poor thing. I lost my day job in NOV of '07 and am trying to get a voice over business off the ground. I see a number of people saying the same thing about themselves being poor but wanting to give. I have been incredibly fortunate in finding a mentor that has helped me more than I can tell you. So giving is easy at this point. I also hear it all the time...the importance of giving back. Celebrities are always talking about that. It's the same in voice over industry and I am sure it's the same in the recording industry?
I don't have a whole bunch. Yesterday I mentioned I had a Lynx One midi cable. That is still available. I also have a small desktop mic stand. The base is about 8" round and fairly heavy. The pole is an On Stage adjustable length and there is also an adjustable mini boom. If you want either item I am afraid you will have to pay shipping.
I'm also happy to offer my services or any way I might be able help someone.

This all makes me very happy. So here we go...

An MXL V63m. Basically brand new.

A Tube MP -- Vintage, dude, totally vintage.

It's first come first serve... but don't PM me unless these are the sorts of things that would really expand your capabilities and make you happy, not just fill an empty space in your mic drawer.

Shipping is on me.

OK. Looking through the pile. I have a Symetrix 620 20 bit A/D converter that could use a good home. I think I might even have a PDF of the manual here somewhere. It's not 24 bit, but it was, in its day, a pretty good sounding converter. Does 48 khz and 44.1 khz. Shipping in the lower 48 is on me. Anyone who needs it just pm me. I'll take the first contestant.

I need to look some more, I think I have some of the SX200 series modules around as well. Sold the preamps, but I think I have some comps.

I'm still accepting pleas from those who need tubes. I've got several PM's already but won't be reading them for another day or so.
I've got several hundred CD's and records that just need someone to listen to them. They will be coming here soon. I just have to go through them. ...Hmmm... When the hell did I get this Village People vinyl?..... And, WHY?

Tube MP studio. Theoretically I have the adapter, but theoretically I also own more than a thousand pairs of socks... they are probably in the same place. My search starts now, so maybe it will turn up before I get a PM.

If you're like me, it'll show up in a couple years and you'll say, "What the hell is this for?"
