This is very, very cool. I've given away stuff locally to people with recording projects and who had more talent but less gear than I do. I'll have to look in the closet and see what I can contribute. I have a bunch of no longer used Symetrix modules here somewhere.

I also have a few recording books. Can't remember the names off the top of my head.

Great thread! Hope to see this thing string out to 100 pages.

why not.

I got a Oktava MC 012-01 I think it is the Chinese fake can't tell because it has most of the traits of a real on but doesn't quite sound the same. Doesn't sound bad but it lacks in the low end.

No stipulations or agenda.

first one to PM me gets it.

I'll pay shipping in the US

Ok, I'm going to give away something else now. Listen closely. I have a store credit for Musicgoround.com. You can check their inventory online, and if there is anything that you like for under $50 let me know!

Good for you!

By the way, I'm aware that you've had a terrible week. I also lost someone very dear to me to suicide.

The one thing I would want to mention to you is that blaming yourself is a total dead end. I blamed myself for many years and it was truly a waste of energy.

I'm sure I'm stating the obvious, but what the hell!

Take care. It does get easier.

Can you say, "BEST THREAD EVER"!?!? Man I'd love to get that ATTY, but I'm sure there is someone out there who needs it more than I do.

Ok, I've been searching for stuff that I can give. I try hard to only buy things that I really need, but I've got a couple items that are collecting dust. Ok, I'm about to become the laughing stock of this thread:

I have a (drumroll please):

Behringer Eurorack 16 channel mixer (MX2004A). It has 8 XLR inputs and 8 TRS inputs. Last time I used it there were no problems (other than the "behringer-ish" sound). For a new dude starting out, this might be useful. If possible, it would be cool to not have to ship it (power wart is 5lb alone!), so I'd prefer to give it to someone who can maybe pick it up, but if there are no local takers I will go ahead and ship it.

also

I have a Korg GT-12 chromatic tuner that isn't really getting used (I have 3 other tuners). It is a little bit scratched up, but it still does its job and it has a backlit option and various open-tuning settings.

HIT ME UP!

Update: Both items have been claimed. Also, I scored the Oktava from Stellastudios!

I just brought my ART Tube Pac in to ship out today to someone in need. I know it's not an amazing preamp but it doesn't sound half bad either and has a comp/limiter. If you swap the tubes I'm sure it will take it up a notch too.
Let me know if you need it, I'll be happy to get it out to you today.

EDIT: Shipped to gearaddict! Hope things are lookin up for ya!

Sounds like fun! I wanna play as well.

I have a brand new, unused Oxygen 8 Midi Keyboard. If anyone would like it, please PM me. I would prefer a local pick up in Cambridge, MA as I don't have too much money to ship right now. Thanks,

Ed

I think this is a great idea. Over the years I gave away 2 guitars and received 2 guitars. Call the Karma police. Only thing I have leftover are some 3630's that I would not wish on any true Gearslut (actually planning on giving them away, once she gets some preamps, to a local amazing singer/ songwriter who is just getting into recording).

Still, I think this is a fantastic idea. Kudos!

EDIT: Actually, it's such a good idea that I might look around the archives later tonight for some stuff to give away. Who knows what the hell might be in there. I'm sure if I find something it won't be great but someone might have use for it.

Awesome. PM me for the book "Mastering Audio: the art and the science" (2002) by Bob Katz. It's been a great resource for me. The Carnegie poster is still inside.

Ok I'll pinch in. I have a BRAND NEW NEVER USED M-Audio Midi UNO. so you can plug your midi keyboard to your laptop or desktop without a fancy sound card.

I don't know where the CD is but you can find the Driver on the net very easily.
I won't give it to the first PM but to someone who really needs it. Guys if you have a sound card you don't need this. I would rather give it to a younger cat who reads gearslutz, tries to start his music carriere but can't afford a real sound card yet.
This lil Uno with Reaper and a few free or demo Vsti could be a perfect first setup.
PM me with a list of you current setup and I will pick 4 and post them here to ask you guys to choose who this thing goes to.
Good luck
PS: In Exchange I DEMANDE my POWER BACK!!!!!...Houston...the biggest forced camping in the world...

First off let me say.... WOW.... this thread gives off such a sense of community helping people out and free stuff =] hahahaha... kinda reminds of what church is actually supposed to be about ... helping out one another and giving ... instead of what it has morphed into ... any way

I dont have much ... unless you want some Digitech multi effect pedals that dont really work... or a beheringer AD/DA Firewire interface 2x2 out ....

I use one of those behringer headphone amps in my studio thats otherwise all highend stuff, it gets the job done, somebody will be very pleased to have it..

(edit: sorry I was a bit unclear, I'm not giving one of these away, but I am just saying someone elses giveaway is a worthwhile product)

Yes, absolutely!
The more I think about this, the more honest I have to be with myself. We all tend to think that we can't afford to give stuff away but, having been on the streets before, I know what it's like to have NOTHING and so I'm going to find some things to give. For starters, if there's anyone who truly appreciates their Art, Blue-Tube, or other low-end gear and has no hope of upgrading anytime soon, I will send you some vintage tubes to help you improve the sound quality of your gear. Don't PM me if you aren't really in need because I am having a terrible month and have been struggling to pay bills myself.
